In this section of the assignment I will compare 2 Roman Emperors that are fairly well-known.
Augustus:
Augustus was born in 63 BC, and was born into a fairly wealthy plebeian family. His birth name was not Augustus but rather Gaius Octavius.
He is most well known for creating an era of peace, also known as Pax Romana.
Nero:
Nero was one of the worst emperors in the Roman empire. According to historians he was corrupt and started lots of war.
Nero was seen as crude and corrupt.
He was cruel in such a way that he burnt Christians as a source of light.
Similarities and Differences:
The main differences of these 2 emperors is that Augustus wished for peace, whereas Nero was cruel, corrupt and very evil and opposite to Augustus. Another difference is that Augustus lived and reigned a lot longer than Nero.
They are similar because they were both Emperors and are very well-known throughout history.
